Moving on from the weekend, I’m giving myself the gift of happy nostalgia this week, and probably well into next week as well. Thursday marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. I got my eager fanboy paws on the audiobook versions of the two-part unauthorized history of the franchise, The Fifty-Year Mission. I’m better versed on the original era as I grew up in when the classic crew’s films were going strong and The Next Generation first premiered on TV, so all of the available geeky source material revolved around the original series. I’m looking forward to getting the more complete picture, having watched it all as it was released. Book 1 is over 23 hours, and book 2 exceeds 34.5 hours. I figure this should keep me off the streets and out of trouble for at least a little while.
