Prime Trek Acquisitions

Amazon’s Prime Day started off as a complete fiasco.  After all the issues I’ve had with them over the years, I admit that I was laughing at the karmic backlash.  They probably lost a couple billion dollars in revenues.

But… they still found yet another way to keep me coming back, even when I wasn’t prepared to buy anything.  One of the fan sites I followed gave me the heads up: Star Trek box sets were part of the Prime Deals.  Of course they were.  Dammit, Jim… time to fill in some holes in the collection.

I picked up Deep Space Nine and Enterprise together for $87.  Had I another $45, I’d have snagged Voyager as well.  Who says I have no restraint?  Next time, Voyager.  Next time…

This could potentially sidetrack me a little from all the reading I want to do.  You know, because I don’t have 100 million other shiny objects to constantly distract me.  And I do have this Star Trek project blog that’s been on hibernation for a while.  I could go back to the beginning, blog one post per season.  Seems a bit ambitious, and it’s certainly a time eater.  It could be ok if I don’t just drop everything and binge watch.  I don’t know… what do you think?  You’d be the ones reading about it, after all.  Any interest?

  1. I don’t know that I can comment on this, since I have only watched a few episodes of any Star Trek series. Those few were forced upon me by my partner. I just haven’t been able to get into the franchise. It would be interesting, however, to see someone that enjoys the franchises opinions on them. May help steer me into a direction of which ones I would actually care to watch and which ones would be best avoided.

  2. I’m incredibly thankful my husband missed the notification of these deals! Although we do have TOS, and I’m pretty sure the rest is all digitally saved somewhere.
I’m a Trek baby – so anything you write on it will tickle me pink. I’m a Horta!
